Life, Good and Otherwise

Line up the garbage scows
A dump and a thump
Goodbye to old years
Hello to new now
A Holiday presently tense
A clunk and a drunk
Goodbye old year
Imperfect form of sense

That letter would be green
If ink was drained
From eyes like yours
And what they've seen-
Let's circle the pain
Compare the score
Zero against nothing
Scream versus screen

Let us avoid the emptiness
As we inhale the hollow void
Breathe deep, shallow thoughts
Hallowed vowels of stress
Lengthy strides of toil
A burn of bubbles burst
Pause to consider the lost
A new year of jealousness

did your band write original stuff? 2nd stanza or whatever it would be called is beautiful.

We did 95% originals in most of the bands. I wrote almost all of them, but Mike the Drummer wrote some good stuff when we played together.

I am very happy that you like it.
What sorts of music are you partial to, and why? (hmmm...that's a 'post fodder' question if ever one was asked).

I've been angry today, but I feel better now.
Thanks!

Way cool. You write beautifully, perfect for lyrics. I like really all "kinds" of music, it's really songs that I find myself pulled to. Either great lyrics, great music or music sections, or a voice that moves me. But I like dance, jazz, rock, r&b, classical, alternative, you name it. Examples of songs I love & why- Mozart's Symph 40 (emotion in the music in certain runs), Aerosmith's Amazing (guitar at the end), LZ's Babe I'm Gonna Leave You (emotion in voice, music, & lyrics), Don Henley's New York Minute (voice & lyrics), Celine Dion's With This Tear (emotion in voice & lyrics), Diana Ross' Strange Fruit (emotion voice, lyrics, & music), Q Lazzarus' Goodbye Horses (music, plus I have a fondness for all things 80s wave sounding), Rob D's Clubbed to Death (music), Tracy Chapman's Fast Car (lyrics, voice, music), man I could talk about music for hours hehe. There are certain bands/singers I like lots of (DM, Cure, Sting, Sade, U2,...). I almost married a drummer, if that says anything. =)

The 'almost' part tells me you are even smarter than I previously thought.
I jest! One of my best pals is a drummer. We just talked about getting back together, which is the second best news I've heard lately.
First best? My pals in Indonesia are fine and have arrived stateside!
Blessed be!
