Good

So far, this has been a great weekend. Today's show was a lot of fun- I swear, the time flies when you are on air- no matter how much you plan, there's never enough time for it all...but I did manage to get Steve/ Knifework set up in time to play a few songs for us, his pal Adam Dawson also played a couple tunes. They both sounded good- honestly, there's so much chaos during a show that I usually don't get a good listen until I edit the recording, which I'll do between shows tomorrow...

I look forward to hearing the recording. Both gentlemen were singer/storytellers who seem to have a genuine sense of historical appreciation- during Adam's last song, one caller asked me "who is that playing? I like that. Is he doing any shows?"
I couldn't really answer, as Adam was sorta a 'walk-in' - hey, it's community radio - and I had just met him ten minutes ago.

"Hold on", I told the caller, " he'll be in the booth and I'll ask him. He can tell you."

So I did and he did. For Adam, it was like getting an instant fan.
Even in this Intertube world, Radio still has the power to connect audiences with artists.
I love being part of that.
I love belonging to something that's good- the community donations keep our bills paid, which is amazing- our town loves us and they say it with cash. Cash is sincere.
We love them too. We give them radio that they want to hear and that's no small thing in this conglomo-media monopoly broadcast world.

Now, I'm not gonna kid myself and claim that our tiny little station is gonna save the planet or anything, but every single day we do put a little bit of good vibe into a world that really needs some. That's better than doing nothing.

I'm happy today. Tomorrow morning I imagine I'll be tired and poorly rested, but it won't matter. My shows will be fun. I always have energy for the things that I love and I love our radio station.
