I have four FM radio shows this weekend - you can listen here. It's our 4th bi-annual fund raising week and it's gonna be fun.
Our fund-raisers are not your typical PBS/NPR Bore-A-Thons, no sir!
During this drive we have converted our station into an Art Gallery , featuring dozens of works by our very talented local artists; we have a full-size kitchen with a heavy supply of top-notch edibles donated by local restaurants- and I'm talking burritos, pizzas, lasagne, sandwiches , w/ vegan options...not merely chips and pretzels as you might expect- and best of all, it's all open to the public, so c'mon in, have lunch and get a guided tour of the station- maybe even catch a couple songs of live music.
It's all free!
My shows, all times USA EST:
Sat- 5pm -7pm; 'Locals Only' Show. I'll be playing the best of local and regional music, as well as slipping in a few songs by yours truly. In, fact, nearly everything you'll hear on this show was either recorded , produced and/or performed by me! I won't mention that on the air-that would be bragging- but this is my blog.
I'm allowed to brag here.
Sun 7am-9am; "TBA". It's 7am Sunday morning and I have two hours of airtime to fill. I'll be playing Celtic, Reggae, Americana, Blues and Jazz- all from my personal collection.
I was going to play two hours of Tom Waits and call the show "Tom Waits for No One", but decided against it...sorry Charlie.
How 'bout I play a cut from this CD instead?
Sun 11am-1pm; 'All Jazz'- I'll be putting on my producer/engineer hat for a live performance by Richmond's own Jazz Composer's Alliance.
Mon 7pm- 9pm; 'Last Call'- More engineering, this time for Lee Harris and Country Sunshine, live Roots/Americana/Country -flavored music.
Live music, free food and me! What more couldja want?
