Not As It Appears

After I receive email that is purporting something amazing, I immediately go to snopes.com. Sure enough, about 75% of those kinds of emails I receive from family, friends, and neighbors is categorized false. It’s whalanol.
I received this link to the Fantastic Machine. It is really fun to watch, but it’s totally fabricated. You can view the clip and read the Snopes review here.
I also received a clip of an entertainer who could play a floor piano with juggling balls. He is an actual entertainer, but it appears he’s not actually playing the piano. His timing with the playback is amazing though and it’s fun. Magicians aren’t real either, but I enjoy them nonetheless. Watch it here.

At least these smoke and mirrors don’t hurt anyone or cost us 3000 American lives…

Now here's an organization that does something really positive with video. MEMRI (Middle Eastern Media Research Institute) "explores the Middle East through the region's media. MEMRI bridges the language gap which exists between the West and the Middle East, providing timely translations of Arabic, Persian, and Turkish media, as well as original analysis of political, ideological, intellectual, social, cultural, and religious trends in the Middle East." It is really interesting to read the transcripts and video subtitles. Some have just been absolutely shocking to me - a 3 year old girl regurgitating anti-Semitic comments, etc. Go to this search page and type in 1278 under the clip # box. I just watched this movie last night and I must have missed the hidden symbolism or something.

The first thing I do when I receive email purporting to be amazing is delete it...

Disney? Didn't they try to teach evolution in Fantasia? I don't trust those bastards.
