Recently met some folks who were talking about starting a progressive , non-profit station here in Richmond, a city which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Clear Channel and Sinclair Broadcasting.
They started broadcasting this year, WRIR 97.3 FM.
Tomorrow afternoon I start volunteering, running the boards and helping with the audio installation (I am audiogearfreek) , and am also submitting an application for a weekly show.
This could be pretty cool.

Here in SF, 97.3 is a Clear Channel station. Ha.
Here in Richmond, everything that isn't 97.3 is a Clear Channel station!
