Today we had a musical guest , Robin Wynn, who was pretty damn good, if not just plain great.
It was just her and her ( boyriend/hubby?) Mark , but I was very impressed. Watch for them.
She's got an awesome voice, and he was doing things to his acoustic guitar that would make an electric guitar green with envy. He's a genius. They are both really nice and fun to work with.
Can't wait to get my copy of the CD- full band includes cello and African percussion.
(Her CD is titled Oblivion. Mine is Extinction. Robin said they'd look great next to each other on a shelf- so I'll be printing one up to send to them)
It was just the DJ, the two musicians and myself in the station for two hours- it was a very cozy, intimate atmosphere. It was good radio.
Every day should be like this.
Yesterday, I snapped. Someone, somewhere is mis-labelling documents and it's making my job impossible.
Boss, where is this data physically being entered?
Down on floor X. It's just a bunch of lame-ass temps- no offense. ( I'm a temp)
Can I go down there and fix this crap?
Well, it won't get you fired.
The temps in document storage don't know I'm also a temp , albeit a rung up in the COC.
All they know is that I'm from upstairs , I'm older and I wear a tie.
Take off those headphones- you won't have to yell at each other without the ipods on.
You-you have yet to enter a single file # accurately - why? Oh-you can't type .
Hmm... hey you, (to the 'runner')- can you type?
Great! You two switch jobs - you deliver , you type.
It works much better now. It's hard to blame these kids- they've been thrown into a crazy environment -moving a giant-ass law firm from one building to another - with little training or supervision. Still, it pissed me off at the time.
Now it just seems kinda funny.
