Love It or Leave It

Back in the Bush days, exchanges such as the following were commonplace at anti-war rallies:

War Protester: " No Blood For Oil!"

War Supporter: "Be thankful that our troops are in Iraq protecting your right to be a stinking hippie ! "

********************************************

I would like to remind the recent GOP 'anti-tax'* protesters that our troops are now fighting and dying to keep America safe for public tea-bagging.

I'm glad to see that their sacrifice hasn't been in vain:

Classy.

I do sorta agree with sentiment expressed on these enormous panties- our government has become so large that it's been spilling over on the rest of the world for many years. However, it's not something that suddenly happened.

In the next picture, an eager Republican adopts the "baby bird" tea-bagging posture :

I find this woman- and the man in the first picture- to be deeply offensive. They display a nearly pathological disrespect for the American Flag and such behavior should not be condoned- in fact, it is prohibited under the United State Flag Code, which I have helpfully excerpted below:

§176. Respect for flag

(b) The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.

(d) The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery.

(e) The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way.
( Note: teabagging may lead to soiled or damaged clothing.)

(i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard.

(j) No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform.

*********************************************

If these violators don't love America enough to respect the flag, I suggest they go look for tax shelters in Somalia.

**********************************************

I love the juxtaposition in this picture:

Is America in danger of turning into Sweden? Sadly, I doubt it.

Here's what the CIA tells us about Sweden (emphasis mine):

Aided by peace and neutrality for the whole of the 20th century, Sweden has achieved an enviable standard of living under a mixed system of high-tech capitalism and extensive welfare benefits. It has a modern distribution system, excellent internal and external communications, and a skilled labor force. In September 2003, Swedish voters turned down entry into the euro system concerned about the impact on the economy and sovereignty. Timber, hydropower, and iron ore constitute the resource base of an economy heavily oriented toward foreign trade. Privately owned firms account for about 90% of industrial output, of which the engineering sector accounts for 50% of output and exports.

Gosh. That sounds awful. Good thing it'll never happen here.

*Where does the money for veteran's benefits come from?

I am often lost, Tom Robbins has always gotten me out of jams before...

"You have taught us much. Come with us and join the movement."

"This movement of yours, does it have slogans?" inquired the Chink.

"Right on!" they cried. And they quoted him some.

"Your movement, does it have a flag?" asked the Chink.

"You bet!" and they described their emblem.

"And does your movement have leaders?"

"Great leaders."

"Then shove it up your butts," said the Chink. "I have taught you nothing."

Amen!

If we search beyond the "protesting" John Does we will find the D.B. Nortons behind all this noise.

The purpose of these tea parties seemed to change by the hour.

I feel it all comes down to millionaires and big buck lobbyists manipulating people.

Hey, Shirty McProtester: EVER HEAR OF BUNTING?

I never complain about paying taxes, I just complain about how they are spent.

I find it purely astounding that people who thought the government was just peachy are now attributing all the problems which were part of the Bush administration to Obama. Shitheads.

I went to the teaparty.org web site. One of their big messages is "Freedom Isn't Free!"

If it isn't free, and you don't want to pay for it, then do you REALLY want it?
