This should be resolved...

My co-worker sent an email to HR today asking about how to get re-imbursed a trip to the eye doc since the Company dropped our insurance w/out telling us.

HR's reply to her?
Verbatim (italics mine):

This should be resolved by next week. I'll be in touch with you and Allan.
They said that on 1/6/06 , 1/11/06, 1/12/06 ,1/18/06 etc etc. Still no answer. I have saved all the emails from this ongoing thread -this one is now at the top of my WTF file.

FYI - I buy my reading glasses at the dollar store for $5.00. I bought a pair at CVS, but they charged $20. Call me if you have any questions. Thanks.


Unfuckingbelievable. I thought she'd quit after reading that. I can't imagine what HR Guy was thinking when he wrote that, but to me it's insulting, condescending and unprofessional , not to mention completely useless. I suggested that she write back and ask HR Guy, "are you treating me this way because I'm a black woman?" That would be funny.
I've already quit working.
I haven't quit my job, I've simply ceased to work while remaining on the payroll.
It's as close to going on strike as I can get without a union to back me up.
I'm getting paid to write this. Does this mean that I'm now a professional writer? Wee!

Luckily, I found a small side job that might turn into something very cool. Fingers crossed...

On a similar note, I'm really enjoying my non-profit radio job*- tonight will be my WRIR DJ debut- while I don't get any real $ from the station, I have fun , learn stuff and it's a great place to network from, which is something I need to do more of.
