It is with a heavy heart that I delve into the fetid miasma of 'Da Vinci Code Controversy'. I had hoped this miserable plague would remain here in the States but the stench emanating from this re-flaggellated horse's carcass crosses all oceans, befouls all nations. It's a stink with a mission.
Obviously, the movie's mission is to exploit people's religious insanity in order to seperate individuals from their money.
This is news?
The Vatican has been doing this for centuries- I think they're upset that Hollywood is better at selling bullshit than they are. It's not really a fair fight- Hollywood has computer graphics and FX and sexy people and the Church isn't really big on explosions and sex - I mean , really, it's still using smoke signals to announce leadership changes. That's not a real winner with the ADD IPod crowd, and nothing-not even a childhood enthusiasm for Nazism- can make Pope Ratzo sexy.
Maybe they could get Mel Gibson to do Passion 2: Beyond Revelation- that would help even things out, I think. It'd make a better video game than Passion 1, that's for sure. That game sucked- I kept getting killed at the end.

When my then-girlfriend first picked up the book she thought I'd love it- me being a long-time conspiracy geek and such- but she was wrong.
I lost interest almost immediately.
"Here we go again with the Grail as Womb and wotnot" , I thought. I'm not sure where I first encountered the idea of JC and Magdelene spawning , but it sure as hell wasn't a Dan Brown novel. Garth Ennis wrote about it in a comic book- Preacher, I think it was called, but it was wasn't new then...it's an old idea- it's almost as worn-out as the Rosicrucians, Knights Templar and assorted Bavarian Illuminati theories. Like those old conspiracies, it might be true it it might not be- but so what? It doesn't matter one whit either way- you buy a ticket and go to the cinema, you pay a tithe and purchase salvation- it's all about the money.
Why the uproar? People are trying to pass laws against showing the movie. This is clearly insane- is there a law requiring one to see this movie? Just don't go.
The novel and the Bible are both fiction loosely based on historical record. I doubt if any serious, rational theologians hold the Bible to be 100% literal truth as told, just as only the most naive reader of fiction will take all of Brown's recycled nonsense as fact.
Stories is stories, is all.
Wouldn't a truly faithful Christian just give a tolerant shrug and move on to better causes-like helping the poor and teaching the kids and other Jesus-y things? I don't believe in all that Messiah hooplah, but when I think of Jesus the Man, I have a positive image of a guy who really enjoyed helping people and accepting the differences of others and stuff. It just makes sense that he'd be sleeping with Magdalene- they spent a lot of time together and that sort of thing tends to happen, you know...
But no, say the God Nuts. Heresy!

It's pretty well established that there is a historical figure named Jesus and that he was a man.
Perhaps you know some men- you may even be a man yourself. In any case , you know that men do gross , offensive stuff.

There's much more to the story of the Vatican's recent machinations than meets the eye. It's not the DaVinci Code or Gospel of Judas per se, but the fact that people have now been motivated to seek out the unequivocal truth about an age of deception, exactly when they expect me to appear. These recent controversies are spurring people to reevaluate the Vatican/Papacy and the religions that Rome spawned, at the worst possible time for them.

The DaVinci Code novel and movie are no more inaccurate as literal versions of history than the New Testament. The primary sub-plot involved purposeful symbology being used to encode hidden meanings, exactly like the Bible and related texts. In other words, none of these stories represent the literal truth. This is the common and pivotal fact of all such narratives about ancient Hebrew and Christian history. Debating whether the DaVinci Code, Gnostic texts, or the Bible are accurate history is a purposeful ploy designed to hide the truth by directing your inquiry away from the heart of the matter.
There is a foolproof way to verify the truth and expose centuries-old religious deceptions. It also proves why we can no longer let the Vatican tell us what to think about ancient history or much else. It is the common thread connecting why the ancient Hebrews, Yahad/Essene, Jews, Gnostics, Cathars, Templars, Dead Sea Scrolls, DaVinci Code, and others have been targets of Rome’s ire and evil machinations. The Vatican and its secret society cohorts don’t want you to understand that the ancient Hebrew symbology in all of these texts purposely encodes and exposes the truth about them. Furthermore, the structure of ancient wisdom symbology verifiably encodes the rules to decode messages built with it. This is what they most fear you will discover.
If the Bible represented the literal truth or even accurate history, there would be no need for faith in the assertions of deceptive and duplicitous clergy and their ilk. It is undeniable the New Testament is awash with ancient Hebrew symbolism and allegory. The same is evidenced in the Old Testament, Dead Sea Scrolls, Gnostic texts, biblical apocrypha, Quran, DaVinci Code, and other related sources. All ancient religious, mystical, and wisdom texts have been shrouded in mystery for millennia for one primary reason: The ability to understand their widely evidenced symbology was lost in antiquity. How do we finally solve these ages-old mysteries? To recast an often-used political adage: It’s [the] symbology, stupid!
It is beyond amazing that the Vatican still tries to insist the Gospels are the literal truth. Every miracle purported for Jesus has multiple direct symbolic parallels in the Old Testament, Apocalypse, Dead Sea Scrolls, and other symbolic narratives and traditions. Recasting the symbolism of earlier Hebrew texts as literal events in the New Testament is one of the central deceptions associated with Christianity. None of these narratives or stories were ever intended as the literal truth. The Vatican has long lied to everyone about the central tenets and history of Christianity. This revelation also proves they are not the Creator’s representatives but Her long-time opponents. The recent hoopla over the Gospel of Judas and DaVinci Code demonstrates they are still desperately trying to deceive the world and obfuscate their true nature and activities.
It's no wonder the Vatican fears the truth more than anything else. As further proof of these assertions, seek to understand the symbolic significance of my name (Seven Star Hand) and you will have proof beyond disproof that Jews, Christians, and Muslims have long been duped by the great deceivers I warned humanity about over the millennia. What then is the purpose of "faith" but to keep good people from seeking to understand the truth?

This morning I was channeling the spirits of Madame Blavatsky and the Comte de Saint-Germain and they suggested that I forward your information to Monsieur Garamond- publisher of the world-reknowned Manutius Press- as Mr. Garamond is considering publication of a modern treatise regarding the intertextuality of certain ancient writings, many of which you have expressed familiarity with above.
Madame B. graciously informs me that you may 'drop her name' as a referring party should Mr. Garamond contact you in the matter of this proposed book- however, the Comte, in his typical inscrutable fashion, has asked to be left out of this endeavor.
I think he's hiding something.

Second, did miss a couple of things. First, the book is an EASY READ-- that is why it is so popular-- no hard words!
Second maybe Mary saw JC as "just a friend" so the whole sex thing didnt come into play and that's why so many Christians and bible thumpers give credit to JC of being without sin. He was just another guy who was "Like a brother to me"
Yep! There's a connection between simplicity and popularity ... I don't know what JC's 'thing' was, but I don't imagine the Dude considered sex to be such a bad thing, a sin or wotever- all that crazy Puritan shit came later, I think.
Being "just friends" is bad enough without getting crucified too- jeez, I'd feel sorry for the poor guy if he wasn't already so damned popular.
There are aspects of what sevenstar said that I agree with. Of course DVC is fiction, but I think it does bring up some of the interesting points in relation to the Gnostic texts that most people weren't aware of - like that the Gnostics even exist hehe, and that there are other Gospels. I like that the book makes people that are quasi followers question their religious beliefs. If they have to be ignorant, I'd rather they go ignorant atheist than ignorant theist hehe.

For a self-styled expert on symbolism , Seven can't even create a decent metaphor- the potato no bones to feed to the hungry-it is, like his blunderbuss 'analysis'- half-baked.
Any truth or wisdom in his writings is purely coincidental- didja check his site? Every page starts with claims of irrefutable proof- but it is never offered. Not once.
I've been making fun of guys like Seven since way before my internet days. I used to be one of those guys, in fact- but I was 16 and taking a lot of LSD at the time.
No i didn't read any of sevenstar's links - didn't think I would learn anything or 'expand my horizons'. I don't agree with most of his postulations nor his writing style, but some of what he said in the above post I do agree with.
