When I read this post, this is what came to my mind: It seems that some of us, and I am including you and me in this proverbial 'us', look at the world through a filter of 1. looking at peoples' motivations and actions 2. principles 3. trying to find humanity. I think those are good things, otherwise I wouldn't do it, but it also has its downsides. We tend to get depressive - we see that people aren't really what we might have thought/hoped they were, we can look at things cynically from the get-go, we remember lots of details for longer than we probably should. Reading this post, I think you are feeling sadness and weariness. One thing I am trying to do more in my own life, and it seems to be helping me some, is to let it go a bit more. Realize not everyone thinks, cares, notices, the same things we do. I'm trying more not to take things as personal - though some things just do and that's just how I'm made right now. You love the station and even though you have hit a sad point, don't let the BS affect what YOU want to do, and what you want to get out of it. Only you will be 'punished' then, not the others who don't even have this on their radar of life really. Don't know if any of this makes sense or if it applies, but it's what came to my mind. =)
JS- Cool. Lost yer # in a comment somewhere though. I'm OK,though , don't worry. Thanks !
Sus- That's 'Soft Construction...(A premonition of Civil War) by Salvador Dali, 1936; his vision of the Spanish Civil War, which was a real lose/lose affair. I found it apt for my mood.
Don't quit! Who cares about an award, anyway? Or about office (or station) politics? Just keep on keeping on, day by day. You have just as much right to belong as anyone else.
...hey where did the post...okay I'm losing my mind, must be the Dali...incredible picture, one of my absolute faves...each time is like the first time, Allan, thanks for posting it...talk tomorrow at 9ish, okayish? Love ya! E.XXX
One day I will explain that context. Moving to Philly has been one of the most alienating experiences of my life. So it was a cryptic joke between me, myself and I.

Beth,
It wasn't an award. It was something else, something more important. This isn't the place for me to give details.
That is so unreal. I like the colors.
